PARENTS say they are still waiting for their money back from parties booked at a soft play centre that closed suddenly.

Little Rascals, at Bretby Business Park, shut in December amid claims roof repairs were being carried out. It has remained closed since.

Gina Bennett, from Woodville, said: “I have not yet received a refund for a party I had booked for my son in September for his third birthday.

“I wrote a letter, including my receipt of payment and party reference number, which I handed to the gatehouse security, who I was informed were collecting their post. It must have been about four to five weeks ago.”

She paid £38 for the party, which was a special offer.

Other parents that took up the offer have also experienced problems getting their cash back.

Jodie Eagling said: “I booked two parties at the same time. My son had his on December 17, so it was the week before they closed. They never mentioned anything and didn’t offer to give us the money back for the second party, which was this month.

“I had to book another party for my daughter which cost much more. She was in tears because she desperately wanted it there.

“If they had given us warning it would have been fine, but to not say anything and leave people in the lurch is awful.”

Mrs Eagling said she did not see the point in writing a letter, as she knew other people that had done that and not heard anything back.

Parent Sadia Shah said: “I had a party booked at Little Rascals for this month and have written to them for a refund, but not received one.”

The Mail was unable to contact anybody from Little Rascals for comment.

When a Mail reporter visited the centre in December, they were asked to leave the premises.

Some parents who requested a refund when it first closed were successful.

It is only in recent weeks that problems have been reported to the Mail.
