AS part of his duties as chairman of South Derbyshire District Council, Pat Murray will be attending a number of events this week.

On Friday, the chairman and consort will be making an appearance at Rosliston Forestry Centre's Forest Frenzy at 2pm.

Saturday will see Mr Murray join part of the High Sheriff's walk at 10.30am, starting in Doveridge and heading through picturesque towns such as Harehill, Church Broughton, Egginton and Willington before finishing in Newton Solney.

The High Sheriff's Charity Walk is an annual event and this year will see the High Sheriff walk some 220 miles over seven days with funds raised split between Help for Heroes and the Derbyshire Community Foundation.

At the end of the week, on Sunday, the chairman will be attending the South Derbyshire District Council Civic Service at St Peter & St Paul's Church, in Swadlincote, starting at 4pm.
