People get set to say final goodbye to Charles

THE funeral for a young man who following a battle with cancer is set to take place today.

Charles Hickman, of Shobnall Road, passed away at his home following a long battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma

The 26-year-old will be laid to rest at 11.15am at the Carnarvon Chapel at Bretby Crematorium.

Any donations made after the service will be split between the Willow Foundation and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

More than £1,000 has already been raised since he passed away.

Many will remember Charles as a staff member at Cineworld, in Middleway Park, Burton – his job had been left open for him by bosses throughout his cancer battle.

He was educated at John Taylor High School, in Barton under Nedwood, and before that at Shobnall Primary School.

Charles is survived by mum and dad Janet and Tony, sisters Catherine and Elizabeth and girlfriend Ashleigh.
