Plan to put 138 homes on former Plasplugs factory site in Burton given conditional approval

MORE than 100 homes are finally set to be built on a former factory site in Burton three years after the plan was first revealed.

A proposal to put 138 homes on the former Plasplugs site, in Wetmore Road, have been given conditional approval by East Staffordshire Borough Council planning chiefs.

Plans to develop the area were hastily submitted following the demolition of the factory in 2010, but were then shelved due to the recession.

Then late last year the plan was resurrected after being taken on by Bellway Homes.

The firm has said work could begin later this year.
