My car was stolen last year and never to be found - I haven't seen any news in burton mail. I can count 10s of case for break in/stealing from vehicle/Damage to vehicle within the last couple of months. there have been reports in media about this but nothing from police asking people for help. And as far as statitistics are concerned, these can be obtained under freedon of information act from staffordshire police or simply enter the post code on www.police.uk. For example, there were 231 Crime reported in February 2013 alone within 1 mile of Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire DE14 3TN, 49 of them were related to burgalry and theft includiing vehicle theft. Now these are only ONE MONTH'S FIGURES

burhan can you quote figures and sources for your claims that "several cars are stolen from the Burton area on a regular basis", but that are not reported in the Burton Mail? With improvements in immobilizers, trackers, alarms and general car security it is much much harder to steal modern vehicles.

My apology - I've never meant anything to do with class and area. Perhaps i should have written in more detail. But the differece is far more than clearer. Have you ever heard a news re:stolen car from burton areas? It's a clear case of double standards of policing from the same force in my opinion. 'Rich' does always mean in monetry value. It could be 'influence' etc too
