POLICE have revealed successful attempts to curb antisocial behaviour and combat crime in Swadlincote.

During the latest Swadlincote Safer Neighbourhood meeting, police officers attended and spoke out to keep the public informed of their campaigns.

It was revealed that police have been targeting the car park at Morrisons, in Coppice Side, after more reports of antisocial behaviour.

Officers have been down to see a group of car owners who are congregating in the car park, playing loud music, kicking a football against the wall and doing wheel spins in their cars.

Police have also be cracking down on drinkers using Eureka Park late at night.

And plain clothes police officers have been out and about in Swadlincote town centre and one shoplifter has been caught as a result of this.

PC Jas Basra has also been conducting his own investigations into heavy lorries using Moira Road, Woodville.

He has been talking to lorry drivers hoping to make them aware of the weight restrictions on the road.
