POLICE have launched a search after a school girl vanished from East Staffordshire.
Staffordshire Police issued an urged public appeal yesterday for any sightings of Amira Basharat.
The 15-year-old (pictured), who is from the Hoar Cross area, was last seen at her school, King Edwards VI, Upper St Johns Street, in Lichfield, at around 12pm on Monday, March 24.
Amira is described as Asian, 4ft 10ins tall and has very long straight black hair.
She was wearing school uniform consisting of a white shirt, black blazer, black skirt, black tights and black shoes.
Inspector Rob Neeson, of East Staffordshire Local Policing Team, said: “We consider Amira to be vulnerable due to her young age and as time passes our concern for her safety is increasing.
“We are working closely with colleagues from West Midlands Police to locate her as we believe she caught a train from Lichfield to Birmingham. It is likely she is in the Birmingham area as this is where she originates from.”
