CUSTOMERS at a popular South Derbyshire pub clubbed together to raise money for charity as well as celebrating the owners 20 years in charge.

Nigel and Lynne Parker have been at the helm of the Royal Oak, in Church Gresley, for tow decades and hosted a special event to celebrate the occasion.

The couple sold drinks at 1993 prices while Linda Crystal, of Blackpool, entertained the masses.

Pub regulars have been raising money for Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance – with a total of £300 handed over.

The pub also helped raise enough money to help pair a range of machinery for Swadlincote Surgery, in Darklands Road.

Dr Robin Trotter and his staff from the surgery were on hand to accept the equipment and cheque on behalf of the air ambulance charity.
