TWO teams from a Burton-based roof tile firm have helped raise £7,200 for charity.
The Burton teams that represented Russell Roof Tiles in the London Triathlon were from the firm's Wetmore Lane and Nicolson Way sites.
The company put forward a team of nine from three manufacturing sites, two in Burton and one from its factory in Lochmaben, in South West Scotland.
The money raised was split between Macmillan Cancer Support and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
Staff from across the business who took part were Daniel Hancox and Adrian Ryding, who both did the 750 metre swim, Rachael Smith and Lyndsay Eaton, who completed the 20km cycle, and Otto Mathiesen and Martin Davies, who ran the final five kilometres to complete the world's largest triathlon.
Russell Roof Tiles regional sales manager Paul McLoughlin said: "I'm delighted we had such committed teams from Russell Roof Tiles taking part – this was a great event to be involved with.
"Our three teams smashed their target, raising more than £7,200."
