Race for Life - all the more poignant now

SUNDAY will mark the third year in which I have taken part in Race for Life.

The first year, my boyfriend’s aunty had been battling cancer which was spreading fast. She sadly died soon afterwards which shows just how serious and deadly cancer is.

This year is even more poignant after the death of my good friend and former Cineworld colleague Charles Hickman, who lost his battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in April, aged just 26.

I have also just lost my amazing grandad, Jack Wright, to liver cancer.

If I can use the word ‘thankfully’ he was only diagnosed with cancer on a Thursday and passed away the following Tuesday. So ‘thankfully’ he did not have to go through the often horrendous symptoms that patients going through chemotherapy have to endure.

With our steps forward in medical science I feel sure we are close to some sort of break-through in a cure, so please donate online through my Race for Life buddy’s page: www.justgiving.com/charlies-angels5k2014
