A BRANSTON pub is set to hold a charity race night later this month.
The Blacksmith’s Arms, in Main Street, will be holding the event from 5.30pm on Friday, June 14 to raise money for the Punch Community Promise, which supports causes around the Burton area, and the Tree of Hope, a nationwide charity which offers hope to the families of sick children who need specialist medical surgery, treatment, therapy and equipment.
The event will start from 5:30pm onwards, with the first race starting just after 6pm.
Races will be every hour and visitors can also support the charities further to ‘buying’ a racehorse and raffle tickets.
Food will be available to purchase until 9pm.
The event is free and all proceeds will be split between the two charities.
The event will be organised by several employees from the Burton-based pub company Punch Taverns as part of their Three Peak Challenge fund-raising. Eleven Punch employees will undertake the gruelling challenge, which consists of climbing the UK’s three biggest mountains within 24 hours, on June 29.
