Recent cases dealt with at Burton Magistrates’ Court

SARAH GEE, 23, of Hill Street, Stapenhill.

It was proved in her absence that she used a colour television without a licence, in Burton, on January 16.

Has been fined £200, with £120 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

CHRISTOPHER LAWS, 55, of The Carousels, Horninglow.

Admitted using a colour television without a licence, in Burton, on January 7.

Has been fined £35, with £120 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

ANNETTE TAYLOR, 37, of Worcester Road, Stapenhill.

Admitted using a colour television without a licence, in Burton, on January 17.

Has been fined £75, with £120 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

PETER WILLIAMS, 37, of Barker Round Way, Stretton.

It was proved in his absence that he used a colour television without a licence, in Burton, between October 4 and November 5.

Has been fined £200, with £120 court costs and a £50 victim surcharge.

TARA ZUBANYCH, 26, of Masefield Crescent, Horninglow.

A charge of allegedly using a colour television without a licence, in Burton, on November 3, has been withdrawn.

LIAM COATES, 20, of Park Avenue, Uttoxeter.

Admitted destroying six saucers worth £5 belonging to The Old Swan, in Uttoxeter, on February 22.

Also admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, in Uttoxeter, on the same day.

He was ordered to pay £25 for the damage and £5 compensation, and £185 for the threatening behaviour, as well as £85 court costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

He is the subject of an exclusion order preventing him from entering The Old Swan for 18 months.

PAUL JONES, 40, of Dovecliff Road, Rolleston on Dove.

Admitted stealing a bottle of Lacoste Blanc aftershave worth £46.50 from Boots, in Burton, on February 16.

Given a 12 month conditional discharge, and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
