This award was introduced last year and was designed to recognise excellence within a consumer-facing retail business or outlet.

The retailer can be an independent or part of a national chain but, in all cases, the entry should relate to (and will be judged on) local activity, including commercial performance, staff engagement and development, community involvement, sales and marketing initiatives and future plans.

The award is sponsored by Hardy Digital, a company which has enjoyed success itself at the Burton Mail Business Awards.

Investment in cutting edge technology, expansion of its workforce and a continuous improvement scheme all helped Hardy to success.

Now it is proud to support those looking to follow in its footsteps.

Managing director Nik Hardy says: “Hardy Signs Ltd is very pleased to be involved once again in this integral part of the local business calendar.

“Sponsoring this particular category makes perfect sense to us as a company – we have a good understanding of retail outlets and the processes required to operate them successfully.

“This has been formed through many years of designing, manufacturing and installing signage for retail outlets, both locally and nationally.

“Having been successful ourselves in 2012, we know how valuable these awards can be – and we look forward to congratulating the deserved winner on the night.”
