ROADWORKS that have been causing disruption in the heart of Burton over the past few days were set to come to an end today.
Vehicles have been unable to turn right from Derby Street towards the town hall since Tuesday, while the National Grid has been carrying out gas works.
It has led to disruption on the one-way system that operates near the town hall, with traffic having been diverted up Borough Road towards the railway station.
It has seen queues backing up down Station Street at peak times.
The diversion was scheduled to remain in place for much of today while the work was completed, with the National Grid expecting the one-way system to be clear and operating normally throughout tomorrow.
Businesses in nearby Curzon Street are reminding people that they can still be accessed via Wellington Street while the work is ongoing.
