A NEW homeowner was so impressed with his South Derbyshire house that he decided to join the firm that built it.
Roddy Blythin was so taken aback by the high level of customer service at David Wilson Homes’ Castle Heights development, in Church Gresley, when he signed on the dotted line for his home he then applied to be a sales advisor.
The 34-year-old, from Ashby, told the Mail about his reason behind deciding to join the firm.
He said: “I’d been in my previous role, as a private health care manager, for nearly 10 years and wasn’t considering moving professions at all, but after seeing how welcoming, friendly and, most of all, passionate the sales team were, I just thought I would really love to do this job.
“David Wilson Homes is all about aspirational living.
“I love that we are in a position to help people find the perfect home, as I found mine.”
Mr Blythin and his partner Daniel purchased their new home, a three-bedroom three-storey semi-detached, using the Help to Buy scheme in August last year.
With this Government-backed scheme, people can purchase a new home up to the value of £600,000 with only a five per cent deposit and, together with a Government-funded equity loan of 20 per cent, a 75 per cent mortgage.
Philip Lacey, sales director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “It’s always great to hear when a customer has had an exceptionally good purchasing experience, but for a customer to apply to join our team as a result is even better.
“We were incredibly impressed with Roddy’s enthusiasm for our product and brand.”
