Rosliston homes plan falls through for trees

PLANS to build 24 homes in a rural village have been refused due to the potential loss of protected trees.

L Beddard and K Sammons have been refused outline permission by South Derbyshire District Council to build 24 homes in Coton Lane, Rosliston, as the new vehicle access would result in the loss of two protected sycamore trees and a considerable length of mature hedgerow. It was also noted that the 'relatively modest number of homes proposed would not result in a significant or meaningful contribution towards the council's five year housing land supply.'
