THE rock at the heart of Burton Albion’s defence took time out of this efforts to get the Brewers promoted to impart some footballing wisdom to a delighted group of fans.

Central defender Ian Sharps took part in special activity session at Blessed Robert Sutton Catholic Sports College, in Bluestone Lane, Stapenhill.

Dozens of youngsters enjoyed learning the ropes from the defensive rock who taught the budding players some of this top tips before casting his eye over them in a series of games.

The club also revealed the winners of the Schools Football League cups.

The under-13 Girls cup winners were Granville High School who will represent Burton Albion at the regional finals.

In the under-11 Kids cup, Ryecroft Middle School, in Uttoxeter came out on top of 22 participating schools in the area, and they will represent the club at the regional finals.
