DOZENS of youngsters descended on the home of Gresley FC for a special ‘community day’.
The event, aimed at bringing together the South Derbyshire community, was held at the club’s Moat Ground and kicked off with budding footballers playing football matches on the pitch.
There was plenty more going on inside the ground with live Premier League football on the big screen, information regarding Gresley’s supporters club and an exhibition of Gresley Rovers/FC memorabilia.
Gresley FC community officer Matt Toulson said “Day’s like this really show how important a football club is to a local community.
“Our ambition now is to continue to grow as a community scheme by creating partnerships with schools and groups to offer coaching sessions and other activities.”
