THERE were vintage motorbikes as far as the eye could see when hundreds of bikers descended on Burton.
The 32nd annual Burton parade organised by the Burton and District Section of the Vintage Motor Cycle Club converged on Marston’s Sports and Social Club, in Shobnall Road, as petrolheads showed off a variety of bikes dating back as far as 1912.
The parade started and finished at the venue and, in between, traversed roads across the area, including a stop at Hilton House Hotel, in Hilton.
Section secretary Vic Carrington-Porter said: “Despite wet and windy weather, everyone involved had a great time and really enjoyed themselves.
“We had around 96 bikes take part, which is nearly the full compliment of 100.
“The ride saw us head out and stop off at Hilton House Hotel.
“Riders enjoyed a quick pick me up before heading back out on the road.
“When we returned to Marston’s everyone told me that they had really enjoyed taking part in the event and had had great fun.
“I would like to say a big thank you to all involved in the organisation and everyone who came along took part.
“We are now already looking to 2015 and getting ready to start planning for what will be the 33rd version of the parade.
“I am sure plenty of people are already looking forward to it.”
