CHIEF Executive Sam Rush has said Derby County would not welcome any interest from clubs in head coach Steve McClaren.
McClaren joined the Rams at the beginning of October and guided them to the play-off final.
The former England manager has enhanced his CV and has been linked with the vacant job at Southampton, but Rush has issued a hands off message.
"I am delighted with what Steve has done," said Rush.
"I was sure he would be successful with us and I am looking forward to working with him for a long time in the future.
"Steve has gone on record as saying he is at the start of his project here and I am sure he is looking forward to cracking on with that.
"I think he is very happy at Derby County and we would be very resistant to clubs coming knocking for him.
"I wouldn't advise them to."
