Samson stays strong to keep Hilton top of pile

A SOLITARY goal from Callum Samson swept Hilton Harriers Jets to the top of WINSHILL SOCCER SCHOOL UNDER-10 DIVISION ONE.

Samson’s goal against Rocester Red came on the day title rivals TS Sports Hammers crashed to their first defeat of the season.

The Newhall side could find no answer to goals from Charlie Bird and Jake Lang as Barton Rovers Spartans registered only their fourth win in 11 games.

Ashby Ivanhoe Jesters picked up all three points thanks to a lone goal from Calem Lewis-Thomas against Stretton Eagles, while Oliver Boyes and Jonathan Dawkins were the scorers in a 2-1 win for Hilton Tornadoes against Whittington Villa, who pulled one back through Harry Parker.

Chellaston Black Sox picked up a valuable 2-1 win against higher-placed Winshill thanks to a Thomas Cripps double. Winshill’s goal was notched by Daniel Eyden.

Leaders Whittington Lasers could only draw with basement side Uttoxeter Juniors in BRIAN MOLE UNDER-10 DIVISION TWO.

Owen Hair netted for Whittington while Charlie Martin hit back for Uttoxeter, who have now bagged back-to-back draws.

Mathew Hughes popped up and netted both goals in a 2-0 win for Uttoxeter White over Riverside Athletic Black, while it ended goalless between Belvedere Red and Netherseal St Peter’s.

Frankie Bussell and Lewie Thornton scored in a 3-1 win for Doveridge over Santos Ravens, with the other being an own goal. William Mathews netted for Ravens.

Albert Village Tornadoes maintained their 100 per cent record in HARDY SIGNS UNDER-10 DIVISION THREE with a 2-1 win at Willington.

Lewis Hobson (2) scored for Tornadoes, while Toby Dupres was on hand to reply for Willington.

TS Sports Villa stay in second spot despite being out of action, ensuring their perfect record remained intact.

Rolleston Red thumped Newhall Tigers 9-0 thanks to goals from Charlie Spendlove (4), Joe Newton (2), Harrison Eves (2) and William Hannibal.

George Allsop popped up with a double to seal a 2-0 win for Belvedere White over Chellaston Red Sox, while Hatton Sports’ 3-1 victory over Barton Rovers Hercules came courtesy of goals from Oliver Higgs (2) and Connor Bordals. Christian Histed replied for Hercules.

Belvedere Park Black stretched their lead at the top of BJFL UNDER-10 DIVISION FOUR to nine points with a 5-0 win over Riverside Athletic Red.

Mitchell Foster and Aidan Locke grabbed a brace apiece and Alex Norton completed the scoring to maintain their 100 per cent record.

Midway lost ground in second spot after a 2-2 draw with Albert Village Hurricanes.

Leo Lant-Hughes and Daniel Barsby netted for Midway, while Callum Davis and Joshua Ollerenshaw scored for Hurricanes.

Marlborough Black beat Outwoods Hawks 2-1 away with a brace from Reuban Betts. Kyran Smith replied for Hawks.

Owen Carrington and Nathan Winstanley scored as Rocester Blues beat Outwoods Eagles 2-1. Ben Taberner replied for Eagles.

Alrewas Colts’ 3-0 win at struggling Woodville Rangers Blue came courtesy of Ben Franks (2) and Callum Richardson goals.

Winshill Gold beat Gresley 2-0 in one of two TAYLOR MADE FLOORING UNDER-12 DIVISION ONE fixtures. Harry Collins and Sonny Criddle netted.

Belvedere Park Blue saw off Hilton Harriers Black 4-2 in a mid-table clash. Joe Edwards (2), Callum Porter and Joe Worth scored for Park, while Danny Baggley and Jamie Gregory hit back for Hilton.

Winshill Green crushed struggling Ashby Ivanhoe 8-0 in TAYLOR MADE FLOORING UNDER-12 DIVISION TWO, with the goals coming from Josh Boam (4), Harry Tivey (2), Will Whittaker and Dylan Kitchener.

Burton All Stars stuffed Abbots Bromley 5-1 thanks to strikes from Connor Beresford (2), Aaron Langslow (2) and Daniel Drozdowski. Elliot White was on hand to reply for Bromley.

Barton Hercules hammered Midway Red 8-1 to continue their domination of TAYLOR MADE FLOORING UNDER-12 DIVISION THREE.

Josh Goodwin, Tom Hewlett and Josh Moore all netted braces, while there were goals for Kieran Bourne and Josh Fellows. Mitchell Moore was on hand to reply for Midway Red.

Aaron Pritchard-Fern, David John Waddell, Mathew Callender and Jack Finch got on the scoresheet as Tutbury Tigers cruised to a 4-1 win against Hilton Harriers Orange. Harry Siddons replied for Hilton.

Dalton Meakin fired in a hat-trick for Stapenhill Swans — but ended up on the losing side as Woodville Rangers won 4-3.

Nathan Bowen grabbed a hat-trick and Jamie Dancer also scored for Rangers.

Midway booked their place in the semi-finals of the TAYLOR MADE FLOORING UNDER-12 KNOCKOUT CUP.

They drew 2-2 at home to Repton Casuals as Joe Groves and Adam Palmer scored and Reece Hughes (2) levelled it for Repton, but Midway nicked it 5-4 on penalties.
