THE owner of a Swadlincote convenience store caught possessing illegal cigarettes on the premises has had his sentencing delayed a second time.

Ridah Jaf, the owner of Mr Cheap, on The Delph, has previously admitted four counts of possessing illegal cigarettes and rolling tobacco at the shop and was due to be sentenced at Derby Crown Court in March.

However, his sentencing was then deferred to yesterday but the case has been adjourned again until July 25.

Derbyshire County Council confirmed the reason for the delay was Jaf’s defence has requested more time to consider evidence submitted by trading standards.
