CONSTRUCTION work to build new skate ramps is well underway while a date has now been earmarked to start repairs on a dilapidated section of the site.
Work to build a whole new ‘street’ section at the facilities, off Woodhouse Street, in Woodville, began earlier this spring.
Now, the Safer South Derbyshire Partnership posted an update on its Facebook page which showed much of the foundations for the extension for the new ramps to be laid.
The post said: “Work is progressing well considering the wet weather. The new street section is shaping up with the first sections of concrete in place.
”As from Sunday, June 1, the repairs will commence on the older part of the park which will be fenced off for a few days and unusable for the early part of next week.
“A further update will be posted next on Thursday, June 5.”
The original park was built in the summer of 2003, but became run-down and neglected in recent years.
