A 36-YEAR-OLD who joined slimming world after finding out she was a size 20 has been ‘overwhelmed’ after she launched her own weight loss club.

Jo Gilmore, of Renshaw Drive, Newhall, is now running her own Slimming World groups and on her first night – New Years Day – she had 41 members walk through the door.

She said: “It was amazing. I was as nervous as anything before but it was like floodgates opened. It was great. I am so overwhelmed.

“People were coming up to me saying they had seen me in the Mail and that I was so inspiring.”

Jo decided to kick her weight problem after the trouser incident in April when she was getting out of breath keeping up with her two small children.

She lost four stone in eight months, dropping to a size 12.

Her next class is at 7.30pm on Wednesday, January 8, at Immanuel Church, in Hawthorn Crescent, Stapenhill.
