A CEREMONY to remember the fallen of the First World War is among the list of engagements for the chairman of South Derbyshire District Council next week.
Councillor Pat Murray and his consort, wife Sandra, will be at the Civic Service at Derby Cathedral on Wednesday to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the start of the Great War.
The event forms part of a busy week for Mr and Mrs Murray.
On Tuesday, they will attend a cheque presentation at the Festival of Transport at The Delph in Swadlincote, followed by a '"'Can you dig it' housing services annual tenant gardening competition and prize-giving presentation on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, Councillor and Mrs Murray will attend the opening of the RSPCA shop in High Street at 11am and, an hour later, will be in attendance at the farmers' market at The Delph.
