'AN accident waiting to happen' is how parish councillors described the situation with two roads in Rolleston.
Speeding traffic in Knowles Hill and Anslow Lane is becoming such a problem that they are fearing for the fate of people walking along the two roads, they said at their latest meeting.
They have called for something to be done to monitor speeds on the routes, in the hope of reducing the problem, which was brought to the fore by a recent incident where a car crashed into a lamppost in Knowles Hill.
Councillor Shaun Adams said: "There is definitely a problem with speeding. There are children who walk down these roads on their way to school, and it's an accident waiting to happen.
"If they had demolished that lamppost during school hours and there had been a child there, God forbid what could have happened."
