SPORTS clubs are being urged to apply for National Lottery funding through a National Lottery scheme.
North West Leicestershire District Council are encouraging local sports clubs and organisations to apply for part of the Community Sport Activation Fund.
The National Lottery has announced that funding will be invested to support grassroots activity. It is part of Sport England’s strategy to deliver a lasting sporting legacy from last year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games. Sport England will invest around £12.5 million in the first two rounds of the Community Sport Activation Fund.
There are grants of between £50,000 and £250,000 on offer for a wide range of projects from family-friendly activities to multi-sport sessions.
Further information is available by visiting www.sportengland.org/funding or phoning Steve McCue, sport and physical activity manager at North West Leicestershire District Council on 01530 454557.
