BURTON Albion are expected to be without defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff for several weeks after he broke his cheekbone.
The 31-year-old centre-half had only just extended his loan at the Pirelli Stadium until the end of the season.
He has been part of a back which kept seven clean sheets in the last 10 games, but fractured his cheekbone in the 0-0 draw with Mansfield Town on New Year's Day.
Zander Diamond and Marcus Holness will now vie for a spot alongside Ian Sharps while Cansdell-Sherriff, on loan from League One Preston, recovers.
The Australian was today seeing a specialist to determine the extent of the damage.
