GARY Rowett admits he was disappointed to draw Bournemouth in the FA Cup after just missing out on Derby County or Chelsea.

Only four balls were left when the Rams landed a plum home tie against Jose Mourinho’s side, leaving the winners of next week’s second round replay between the Brewers and Fleetwood Town to face the Cherries away.

“I was a little bit disappointed,” said Rowett. “That’s not with any disrespect to Bournemouth.

“It’s not great for them either in terms of exposure.

“We got down to the last four balls with Derby, Chelsea and Bournemouth.

“Derby would have been amazing – it’s got that attraction in terms of money and local interest.

“Chelsea would have been a huge tie for us.

“But we’ll just have to try and get through to get that far (the third round).”

Albion host York City in League Two just three days before their replay against the Cod Army.

The Brewers travel to Hartlepool United on the following Saturday – but Rowett does not envisage any selection problems.

He said: “I had an opportunity to play Alex MacDonald, who started a game for the first time in a while (against Fleetwood).

“I think we have a squad big enough to occasionally take someone out of the firing line.”

Rowett believes the timing of the second round replay could be more of a concern to the Cod Army.

Fleetwood take on Rotherham tomorrow in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy before travelling to League Two high-flyers Rochdale.

And four days after the trip to the Pirelli Stadium for their FA Cup reply,, the Cod Army host Cheltenham.

“They will play Tuesday Saturday, Tuesday Saturday, so it might be more of an issue for them,” said Rowett.

Arsenal will play Tottenham Hotspur at home in the stand-out third round FA Cup tie.

Manchester United will host Swansea City while Norwich entertain Fulham.

Conference Premier sides Kidderminster and Macclesfield entertain League One Peterborough and Championship Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Burton Albion will travel to Championship side Bournemouth if they can get past Fleetwood Town in next week’s replay.
