BURTON Albion have sealed the signing of goalkeeper Benji Siegrist on a one-month loan deal from Premier League Aston Villa.
The 21-year-old Swiss under-21 international goes straight into the squad for Saturday's trip to Plymouth Argyle, kick-off 3pm.
Siegrist was also part of the Switzerland squad at the London 2012 Olympics.
Boss Gary Rowett said: “We've been watching Benji for some time now - Kevin Poole, Kevin Summerfield and I have all watched him and have been impressed.
“We’re always interested in strengthening our squad and at 6ft 4in he's a big goalkeeper and has some good attributes.
“We now have two excellent young goalkeepers who are both there to challenge each other and will both be looking to start matches.”
Siegrist is yet to make an appearance in senior club football but is very highly thought of at Villa Park and in the Swiss set-up.
