BURTON Albion have completed the signing of Adam Buxton on a one-month loan deal from Championship side Wigan Athletic.
The 21-year-old defender can play at right-back, left-back and centre-back and was captain of Wigan’s development squad last season.
Brewers boss Gary Rowett said: “Adam is a player we have liked for some time now and we actually tried to sign him during the summer.
“We watched him for about 18 months and really liked what we saw.
“He is a big lad and can play in a number of positions across the defence, and at the moment with one or two injuries it was important that we got someone in to add to the numbers at the back.
“He is a player that I know will be able to cope with the demands of this league.”
Buxton isb available for Albion’s FA Cup third round trip to Bournemouth on Sunday.
