SHAUN Harrad will be “desperate” to play against former club Burton Albion this afternoon, according to his new manager at Rotherham United, Andy Scott.
The Millers and the Brewers face off at the Pirelli Stadium today, kick-off 3pm, with Harrad looking to make his mark against the club he left just over a year ago to join Northampton Town.
He scored six goals for the Cobblers in 18 games, but was allowed to leave last August, signing for League One side Bury, but after failing to score a single goal there, he joined Rotherham on loan earlier this month, where he has been in fine form.
Scott said: “Shaun Harrad will be desperate to play against his old side on Saturday.
“He’s had a good start for us with two goals in two and he could have had a couple more.
“I’m delighted with him but I’m delighted with everyone.
“It’s a team game and we’re all in it together and the players deserve the credit but, we can only pat ourselves on the back when we’ve got to where we want to be, which isn’t going to be until the end of the season.”
Scott’s side are three places but only one point above Albion in the race for a League Two play-off place.
However, while Paul Peschisolido’s side have yet to win a game in 2012, Rotherham have won their last two.
Scott said: “Yes, I’m pleased but we’re not getting carried away.
“Results are the main thing but we’ve had a couple of decent performances where we’ve been organised and solid and we made it very difficult for Southend and Accrington.
“We’ve been here before thinking that everything is going well and we’ve had a little bit of a fall, so, at this stage of the season we’ve just got to make sure that we take all the positives into the next game.
“We haven’t been able to play the same side for three games on the bounce all season with suspensions and injuries so if we can keep people fit and keep people together and playing well there will be people knocking on the door trying to get into the side which is healthy as well.
“We’re all in it to win games. And working Monday to Friday people only really see the results on a Saturday and we haven’t really got the results that we deserve sometimes but everyone’s in the same boat with the hard luck stories.
“We have to make sure that we get on a really good run in the last 17 games and pick up enough points to put ourselves in a good position.”
BURTON Albion’s postponed match against Gillingham has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 27, kick off 7.45pm.
The match was originally due to be played on Saturday, February 11, but was postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Pirelli Stadium.
