Pesch: no panic after Bolder disclocates shoulder

BURTON Albion are awaiting the outcome of a scan to establish the extent of the injury suffered by midfield recruit Adam Bolder.

The 29-year-old former Derby County man was stretchered off and taken to hospital for emergency treatment after dislocating his right shoulder in a heavy fall shortly before half-time in Saturday’s 2-1 League Two defeat away to Cheltenham Town.

Bolder will almost certainly miss Saturday’s Pirelli Stadium clash with Hereford United, but Albion do not yet know whether the free transfer signing from Millwall faces a longer spell out.

Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido said: “It was a bad dislocation, but the good news from the hospital was that there was no indication of any bone damage.

“We now have to wait and see what the scan reveals in terms of soft tissue damage.

“Until we know that, it’s impossible to say how long Adam will be out of the side, though I don’t think there is much of a chance he will be available for the Hereford game.” Peschisolido was philosophical about the impending absence of the midfield anchorman.

He said: “First and foremost, I feel sorry for Adam.

“He didn’t play a lot of games last season and he only joined us halfway through pre-season, so it’s taken him a while to make his presence felt.

“But I felt at Cheltenham on Saturday he showed signs that he was getting back to his best.

“Unfortunately, injuries are part and parcel of football and we just have to get on and deal with it.

“It’s a setback for us, but not an insurmountable one because fortunately we’re quite strong in Adam’s area of the pitch with the likes of John McGrath, Russ Penn and Jacques Maghoma.

“With that in mind, I don’t feel as though I need to rush out and bring someone in as cover.”
