BURTON Albion's unbeaten start to the season was extended to four games as they held off a second-half fightback to beat Fleetwood Town 3-2 at Highbury Stadium.
The Brewers won 4-0 on this ground last season and made it seven goals in a game-and-a-half as they went 3-0 up by the break.
Rene Howe scored his first official goal for his new club in the 12th minute, powering home from close range after Adam McGurk nodded the ball on.
Then McGurk got on the scoresheet himself, converting Chris Hussey's corner with a composed low finish.
And Hussey made it 3-0 after being set up by Howe.
After the break, Fleetwood looked a different side and pulled two goals back through Jeff Hughes and Jamille Matt, and Burton looked as though they might throw it away.
However, they held on to make it seven points from a possible nine and move up to fifth in League Two.
