PAUL Peschisolido is ready to talk terms with promising striker Serge Makofo.
The stocky Congo-born player has persuaded the Brewers boss he is worth keeping at the Pirelli Stadium after scoring a reserve team hattrick.
The former MK Dons forward spearheaded Albion's 6-0 rout of Macclesfield Town in the totesport.

Now, Peschisolido wants the Londoner to sign a short-term deal and prove he can hold down a place in Albion's League Two squad.
The Brewers boss said last night: "I like what I've seen of Serge and it's hard to ignore someone who can score a hat-trick.
"I'm going to sit down with him and see if we can come up with some sort of deal, maybe a month's contract to start with.
"He's out of contract and he hasn't got a club so he may as well join us and earn a bit of money, with the chance of something more permanent if things work out." The 23-year-old Makofo has no great track record since leaving MK Dons in 2006 with a string of nonleague clubs mainly below Conference level to his name.
But Peschisolido has taken a shine to the Londoner, who parted company with Albion's former Blue Square Premier rivals Grays Athletic last month.
He said: "I was impressed with Serge, both against Macclesfield and against Derby last week. He looks really sharp and took his goals ever so well." The possible signing of Makofo has seemingly ended Richard Jackson's hopes of earning a deal with the Brewers.
The former Derby County full back had been training with the Brewers since pre-season and played in their first two reserve team games.
But Peschisolido said: "I have to be careful because I'm working to a budget and I would rather spend what money I have on an extra striker." "Richard is quality player, but we are well covered in his position." That probably rules out the chances of a deal for another trialist, Chris Riley.
The 21-year-old full back is a former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate of Albion midfielder Jacques Maghoma and is looking to return to football after injury problems.
Riley played against Macclesfield and may turn out for the Brewers again when they resume reserve team football next month.
