TEAM NEWS: Burton Albion boss Paul Peschisolido named an unchanged line-up for the trip to Underhill after the previous week’s 2-1 home victory over Bristol Rovers.
Top scorer Justin Richards was ruled out for the second game running with a back problem.
As a result, Calvin Zola, who picked up an Achilles injury against the Pirates, was passed fit to partner Billy Kee up front.
Central defender Tony James, who burst his eardrum against Bristol Rovers, retained his place in the starting line-up.
There was one change on the bench, with midfielder Jack Dyer replacing Chris Palmer.
The Bees included two former Albion players in their line-up, Mark Byrne and Steve Kabba, who scored all four goals when Barnet beat the Brewers 4-1 at the Pirelli Stadium in April.
BEES (4-4-2): O’Brien; Hughes (capt), Uddin, Leach, Borrowdale; Byrne, Deering, Kamdjo, Holmes, Kabba, McLeod; subs: Brill (gk), Parkes, Owusu, Marshall, Vilhete.
BREWERS (4-4-2): Atkins; Amankwaah, James, Austin, Webster, Taylor, Bolder, McGrath (capt), Phillips, Zola, Kee; subs: Poole (gk), Corbett, Yussuf, Maghoma, Dyer.
HALF-TIME: The Brewers broke the deadlock after just seven minutes.
Adam Bolder dispossessed Bees midfielder Clovis Kamdjo in the centre circle.
He played it right to Cleveland Taylor, who fed the overlapping Kevin Amankwaah and the right-back pulled the ball back to Billy Kee, who thumped a first-time shot into the roof of the net from 15 yards.
The hosts almost responded on 13 minutes when midfielder Sam Deering played a ball over the top for Kabba, who had got behind centre-back Ryan Austin, and the striker hit a first-time volley which Brewers keeper Ross Atkins did well to parry.
It perhaps should have been 2-0 on 24 minutes when Adam Bolder intercepted a Barnet throw-in on halfway.
The ball found Zola, who played it down the right to Bolder.
He crossed to the far post, where Zola had continued his run, but the striker, stretching slightly, fired high over the bar.
The hosts had a chance on the half-hour after a botched corner routine had led to a goalmouth scramble.
Albion half-cleared but Kabba played the ball to Ricky Holmes, whose shot was just wide of the far post.
However, less than 60 seconds later, a long ball out of defence saw Kee win a challenge on the edge of the box, take a touch and fire a terrific shot into the top corner for his sixth goal in as many starts.
The hosts should have pulled one back on 36 minutes when a misplaced haeader by centre-back Tony James dropped to striker Izale McLeod six yards out but he fired a shot straight at Atkins, who deflected it for a corner.
However, it was 2-1 on 39 minutes when a ball from midfield saw McLeod clean through on goal and he slotted his shot wide of Atkins.
It was end-to-end stuff and when Kee found Zola, he turned Clovis Kamdjo, now playing at centre-back, but saw his shot beaten away by Bees keeper Liam O’Brien.
With a minute to go before half-time, James gave the ball away inside his own penalty area to Kabba, whose shot hit the foot of the near post and bounced to safety.

FULL TIME: The Brewers started the second half well, with Taylor’s cross from the right flying just wide of the far post in the opening minute then opposite winger Jimmy Phillips seeing a shot from a tight angle blocked at the near post following a mistake by right-back Mark Hughes which had gifted him possession.
The hosts responded on 50 minutes when substitute Mark Marshall’s corner from the right dropped to Kabba at the far post.
He tried an instinctive overhead kick which was only just too high.
Peschisolido made his first change on 55 minutes, with Jacques Maghoma on for Phillips.
However, the hosts were level less than 60 seconds later when a corner was cleared only as far as Deering 25 yards out.
He played a neat ball into Holmes inside the penalty area on the right and he curled a shot with the outside of his right foot into the far corner.
Albion’s second change saw Dyer replace skipper John McGrath on 61 minutes.
Kee turned the game in Albion’s favour again on 63 minutes by completing his hat-trick.
Bees keeper O’Brien dithered when coming out of his area on the left to make a clearance and saw it charged down by Taylor.
Taylor eventually crossed for Kee, who took a touch before drilling another stunning shot in off the underside of the bar.
Kee almost made it four when released by right-back Kevin Amankwaah, but his shot was deflected just wide of the near post.
Kee was taken off with 73 minutes gone to be replaced by Adi Yussuf.
Yussuf scored with his first touch, bagging the Brewers’ 150th Football League goal a minute after coming on.
Webster played a free-kick short to Maghoma, who played it back down the line to the overlapping left-back.
His cross to the near post found Yussuf, who fired home his first goal for the club.
Dyer capped his first appearance of the season by scoring Albion’s fifth, rifling a 20-yard shot into the bottom corner after a goalmouth scramble.
The hosts pulled one back with two minutes to go, with Deering bundling the ball home.
It could have been 5-4 seconds later, but Atkins beat away Marshall’s shot, with the rebound just eluding McLeod, who was all alone in front of goal.
Deep into stoppage time, Byrne saw a deflected effort skim off the top of the bar.
However, Albion had the last laugh, with Dyer playing the ball through to Zola, who fired past O’Brien.
