BURTON under-13s crushed their Uttoxeter counterparts 31-0 with a destructive display of rugby on Sunday.
A hat-trick of tries from Jake O’Toole (3) led them to a fine victory in the friendly clash, with further tries coming from Millar Pride and Zak Fellows,
Conversions from Harry Roden (2) and Will Bower completed a solid win, with Uttoxeter taken apart in the first half.
O’Toole dived over to give the Crofters a 5-0 lead early on, with the try going unconverted.
Pride then extended the lead following good work from Matt Shenton, diving over the line and allowing Roden to convert with a brilliant kick.
O’Toole used his strength to get a second score of the day following a Uttoxeter scrum, but the angle is too tight to allow the conversion to go over.
The first half ended with Burton stamping their domination on the match with a try for Fellows, whose marauding run was too much for the Uttoxeter defence as he steamed over under the posts. Roden converted to make it 24-0 at the break.
The visitors seemed to come to life after half-time and much of the game was played in midfield.
The only try came when O’Toole scooped up the ball following a break from Fellows and stormed over. Bower converted to complete a good afternoon’s work for the Crofters.
