FORMER Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough - now manager at Sheffield United - has been nominated for the League One manager of the month award.

The Blades picked up eight points in four games during December, conceding only two goals in the process, as they continued to pull away from the wrong end of the table.

Clough, who was appointed at Bramall Lane in October after leaving Derby County, is up against Steve Cotterill of Bristol City, MK Dons' Karl Robinson and Mark Warburton at Bradford City for the award.

The winner will be announced on Friday.

Albion boss Gary Rowett is in contention for the League Two prize, while Rams head coach Steve McClaren is expected to be nominated for the Championship award.
