DERBY County are considering whether or not to try and extend the loan deal for striker Ryan Noble from Sunderland.
The teenager joined on a month-long deal in January, but has started just once for the Rams due to the return of Nathan Tyson from injury and the form of fellow youngster Callum Ball.
And with Steve Davies and Theo Robinson also nearing a return, Noble may be allowed to return to Wearside.
Clough said: “We’ll have a chat with Sunderland, see what their plans are and if they need him back.”
Noble’s deal is due to expire next week.
Meanwhile, Clough believes that his young side can cope with any intimidating atmosphere after seeing them silence the crowd at Nottingham Forest earlier this season.
The Rams take on Millwall today, kickoff 3pm, at what is expected to be a vociferous New Den, especially after the Lions beat title-chasing Southampton in the FA Cup in midweek.
But despite boasting the Championship’s second-youngest squad, Clough insists his players can rise to the challenge today.
He said: “There is going to be the odd occasion when they freeze, because they are young.
“But when you think back to Nottingham Forest in September, the atmosphere there and how intimidating it was on the day, especially with the circumstances in the first five minutes, we coped with that, so they should be able to cope with most things.
“People think that you need 25,000- 30,000 supporters to make an atmosphere and to make it intimidating — you don’t.
“They (Millwall) do that well and the ground seems to hold the noise in for some reason, so it can be a difficult place to go.
“But it is up to us to try and keep the crowd quiet for the first 10-15 minutes and play our own game.
“It is another good experience for them (the Derby squad) because some of the players, particularly the youngsters, won’t have played there or had the experience of it before.
“So it is another game that when they go in coming seasons, they will be better off for it, but they must deal with it on the day as well.”
Former Millwall player Theo Robinson (pictured right) is unlikely to be unavailable to feature against his old club as the striker is still struggling with a calf injury picked up against Burnley.
However, Nathan Tyson could return to the starting line-up after overcoming a groin injury.
Clough said: “He (Robinson) is struggling for the weekend at the moment.
“It has not healed as well as we had hoped so we’re looking towards Tuesday against Reading or maybe Southampton next Saturday.
“Another two or three training sessions hasn’t done Nathan Tyson any harm either.
“We would have had him out there last weekend against Forest and he would have started, so that was a big disappointment for him that the game got called off.
“But he will get plenty of opportunities, there are still 18 games to go and we want him to be playing in the majority of those.”
MILLWALL will be without four players due to injury today.
Nadjim Abdou is nursing a knee problem, while fellow midfielder Therry Racon has progressed to outdoor running this week.
Tamika Mkandawire continues his long term rehab from his knee operation and is still gym-based, while goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall’s ankle has been improving following his injection.
