JOHNNY Russell’s double last night stretched Derby County’s impressive unbeaten away record in a 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium.
Alex Baptiste, a summer transfer target for Derby, gave Bolton an early lead before Russell scored twice in 11 minutes to put the Rams ahead.
Chris Eagles thumped home an equaliser shortly before half time and perhaps the biggest surprise was that there were no further goals in the second half of what was an open Championship contest.
Ten points from 12 on the road at the start of this season is an excellent return for Nigel Clough’s team and they also won at Oldham in the Capital One Cup to make it five without defeat in away games.
