JOSHUA Waters maintained his winning streak in the youth section of the Notts and Derby Cyclo-Cross League.
The Sherwood Pines SRAM rider was up against a bumper 85-strong field at Bingham in a VC Nottingham-organised event.
The tough course featured hills, mud and slippery slopes but Waters was unfazed by the conditions.
The youth rider pulled away from the field on every lap to gain a convincing win by 24 seconds from second-placed William Gascoyne, of Matlock CC.
In the V40 age category Mercia Cycling Club’s Justin Waters finished 15th and 21st overall.
Julian Stiff was 17th in the V45 section and 59th overall.
Adrian Waters came home third in the V65 year old age group and was 122nd out of the 130 riders who completed the race.
Nottingham Clarion’s David Ash was first overall.
The following day Joshua Waters was in action at the Witham Wheelers Lincolnshire League Cyclo-Cross held at Stroxton near Grantham.
Riders were aiming to push for a place in the East Midlands team on the back of a strong showing.
Waters maintained his form to win the youths’ race – easily beating teammate Oliver Peckove.
In the same race, Joshua’s brother Bailey, of Mercia Cycling Club, finished 18th out of 24 finishers in his first race for nearly 12 months.
