Gate drown Washlands to reach Junior Cup final

BRANSTON Gate made sure of their place in the final of the Burton & District Sunday League Junior Challenge Cup with a 7-0 destruction of Washlands.

Former Stapenhill left-back James Fulton (5), Jacob Brandon and Freddie Shreeve were all on target.

In the TAG Premier Division, Drum Athletic beat New Inn 3-2 with goals from Matt Moran, Stuart Ensor, and Joe Moran. Matt Smith and Reece Daniel scored for New Inn.

Hilton Athletic thrashed Netherseal St Peter’s 10-0. Daniel Waltho (6), Alex Broster, Don Allen and Robert Ritchie-Smith found the net for Hilton.

Repton Casuals beat Kings Bromley Swifts 4-2. Chris Martin (3) and Josh Gregory netted for Repton. Ian Smith and James Burton scored for Swifts.

Winshill Branny Arms beat Shobnall Athletic 4-2. Sean Meddings (2), Jim Short and Martin Young were on target for Winshill. Hayden Shepherd got both goals for Shobnall.

In Division One, Edge Hill reserves beat Gresley Oak 3-1. Jake Butler, Lewis Brown and Jacques Briscoe netted for Edge Hill. Daz Billings pulled one back for Gresley.

There was some shocking defending when LKS beat Midway 9-7. Josh Johnson (4), Paul Morton (3), Josh O’Brian and Trafford Pickering found the net for LKS. Jamie Salt (2), Sean Evans (2), Jim Webster, Luke Siddalls and Adam Wilson scored for Midway.

Top-of-the-table Miners Arms lost 3-1 to Royal Oak Newhall. Sam Kirk (2) and Gary Cooney scored for Royal Oak. Mathew Colley notched the consolation goal for Miners.

Marlborough Rovers beat Ticknall Rangers 4-2. Chris Waldrum (2), Corrie Casswell and Jamie Edwards netted for Marlborough. Matt Archer and Ian Hall scored for Ticknall.

In Division Two, table-topping Seal Inn beat Whittington United reserves 3-0. Dan Laud (2) and Dave Harper were both on target.

The Angel beat Red Lion Repton 10-1. Chris Smith (6), Nathan Rolph (2), Andy Leyland and Matthew Fearn netted for the Angel. Joe Noble notched the consolation goal for Red Lion.

The Greyhound Inn and Oakthorpe Athletic drew 3-3. Jordan Dent (2) and Adam Morris netted for the Greyhound, while Richard Hyde, Andrew Bourne and Daniel James hit back for Oakthorpe.

Woodville beat Hilton Old Talbot 7-2. Ashley Franklyn (5), Ross Hollis and Luke Jarvis found the net for Woodville. Jordan Mcphee got both goals for Hilton.

In Division Three, Alrewas RBL beat Yoxall Rangers 6-4. Martin Bean (3), Adam White, Toby Moss and Richard Bendelow netted for Alrewas. Dan Barton (2), Peter Martin and Luke Williams scored for Yoxall.

TL Darby reserves beat Drum and Monkey 4-2. Richard Taylor (2), Kelvin Beddow and Jamie Mobley scored for Darby. Liam Buckley and Joe Morton found the net for the Drum.

Winshill Parish, top of the table, beat Wetmore Villa 5-1. Ryan James (2), Luke Thomas, Aaron Jackson and Rhys Lawrence netted for Winshill. Michael Smith pulled one back for Villa.

In Division Four, Donisthorpe beat Albion Allstars 4-1. Tom Antill (2), Conner Cannon and Tim Wilkins netted for Donisthorpe. James Winstanley pulled one back for Albion.

Woodville reserves beat Blackfordby YC 4-2. Aston Gallagher (3) and Daryl Taylor scored for Woodville. James Crisp and Dean Shaw netted for Blackfordby.

Burton crushed TS Sports 10-1. Joe Smith (2), Josh Timms (2), Craig Watson (2), Shaun Smith, Liam Watson, Richard Sellars and Harry Bollington were all on target for Burton. Callum Inger notched the consolation goal for Sports.

Marlborough Rovers reserves beat AFC Stapenhill reserves 3-1. Mark Cox, Mark Hudson and Jonny Robinson netted for Marlborough. Marlon Brandon pulled one back for Stapenhill.

TL Darby A beat struggling Midway reserves 10-3. Declan Chandler (5), Anders Shenton (2), Wayne Smith (2) and Harry Keeton were all on target for Darby. Dan Whyatt, Richard Feasey and Ricky Ayre scored for Midway.
