Gresley to rest Turville and Hancock for Nomads encounter

GRESLEY FC will not risk either Oliver Hancock or Royce Turville for this afternoon’s match at Anstey Nomads, kick-off 3pm.

Gresley Rovers - Gary NortonThe injury-plagued duo were not in the squad as the Moatmen strolled to a 4-0 FA Cup Preliminary Round win over Quorn on Saturday, and with an East Midlands Counties League match coming hot on the heels of that encounter, the management team have decided to give them longer to recover.

Turville played 68 minutes of Tuesday’s defeat to Greenwood Meadows, but assistant manager Martin Rowe admitted: “We may have brought Royce Turville back a little too early.

“When he came on last week he did very well, but Royce will be given more time to get fit properly.

“Oliver Hancock picked up a bit of an hamstring knock, but it shouldn’t be too bad and he should be available for next weekend. But neither will be involved on Monday.” Richard Butler will return to the squad after suspension.

GRESLEY will travel to either Glapwell or Lincoln Moorlands Railway in the FA Cup First Qualifying Round on September 11.
