MARTIN Rowe has hinted at making changes for tonight’s FA Trophy preliminary round replay against Carlton Town after saying his Gresley players lacked consistency at the weekend.
The Moatmen salvaged a 2-2 draw at the Bill Stokeld Stadium on Saturday to force the Millers to face off again at the Moat Ground, kick-off 7.45pm.
And Rowe said: “I haven’t decided on the team yet.
“I will certainly think of all the performances because there were quite a few players who weren’t hitting their top form.
“Over the last few games we’ve had that consistency when everyone knew their job but that consistency was lacking and if we’d have had it we would have won.”
Gresley took the lead on Saturday, but were immediately pegged back, and – despite Carlton going down to 10 men just before the break – fell behind before snatching a late draw.
“I was very disappointed in how we defended,” said Rowe.
“The first goal was a gift.
“I think John Guy has gone to play the ball but he missed it and their player went inside and thank you very much.
“We’ve got to be more positive and a bit more aggressive in the game.”
Jordan Nadat (pictured) was handed his first start of the season, but Rowe may restore Dean Oliver to the main striker’s role.
“In hindsight we may have brought Dean Oliver on sooner,” he said.
“Jordan Nadat did well up front but we struggled to support him quickly enough.”
