GRESLEY have named Jamie Barrett as their new club captain for the forthcoming season, with ex-skipper Gary Hateley dropping down to vice captain.
Hateley had to miss a number of games last season through work commitments.
Moat Ground manager Martin Rowe said: "We decided to hand the armband to Jamie as Gary is about to leave the country for a while due to work commitments.
"We appreciate that Gary's work has to come first but we need some stability on the pitch and at training.
"We'd like to thank Gary for all he's done for the club. He has been a superb captain and I'm really pleased that he has agreed to accept the role of vice chairman."
Barrett said: "I am very proud and honoured to be considered by the management after spending 10 years at the Moat Ground.
"I have some very big boots to fill from Gaz Hateley who I can honestly say is the best captain I have played for in my career and will prove to be a valuable vice captain and goalkeeper to the club."
