REPTON School’s hockey teams have been praised after claiming three of the five national girls titles available this season.
The under-14s claimed the National Schools Championship for Girls last week at Cannock Hockey Club, adding to the titles won by the under-16 and udner-18 teams at the National Indoor Hockey Finals in Bromsgrove.
Martin Jones, Repton’s director of hockey, said: “Each of these most recent competitions saw some outstanding team and individual performances. Every success is as important as the last to us and we are very proud of what our squads have already achieved in 2013.”
The country’s top eight teams gathered in Cannock last week and the under-14s played exceptionally well, not conceding a single goal throughout the tournament.
The under-18s reached the final of their tournament and, after a draw, were declared runners-up after losing 4-3 on penalties.
