BURTON Jujitsu Club have completed their move from Henhurst Social Club to the Burton Judokwai.
The switch represents the completion of a full circle for the founder of the club, Mike Young, who began his martial arts career at the Burton Judokwai nearly 48 years ago.
Not only has Young returned to his original stamping ground, but his two original instructors are still active members, despite Derick Skivington being 82 and Murray Horton being 85.
The hope is that at the much larger and better equiped Judokwai, the club can take on more members.
Young said: “It’s great to be back at the club, its like coming home.
“As for Derrick and Murray they are an inspiration for everyone, I only hope I’m still training at that age.”
