There was a surprise result in the MARLEY ETERNIT UNDER-14 KNOCKOUT CUP final as runaway league champions Gresley went down 2-1 to Repton Casuals.

A consolation goal for Gresley substitute Ashley Green two minutes from time answered the strikes from Repton’s Benjamin Lomas and Jamie Slack.

Division One title favourites Barton Rovers were left with just their league campaign to concentrate on after going down 2-1 against Unity All Stars in the ARRIVA MIDLANDS UNDER-13 KNOCKOUT CUP final.

Rhys Bourne found the back of the net for Barton, but lost out to the replies from Unity’s Jamie Cobley and Jordan Smith.

Ashbourne Aztecs lifted the KL ENGINEERING UNDER-16 KNOCKOUT CUP thanks to a 4-1 defeat of opponents Gresley.

The Aztecs goals were scored by their quartet of James Ingram, Hayden Millward, Josh Morris and Joshua Timms.

The INCHCAPE YOUTH LEAGUE KNOCKOUT CUP final produced the anticipated close-fought encounter between the division’s top two teams, Aztecs and Winshill, with the Ashbourne outfit emulating the success of their under-16 counterparts and taking home the silverware.

The sides were level at 2-2 after extratime, but Aztecs held their nerve in the dreaded penalty shoot-out to edge it 4-3.

Substitutes William Tomkinson and Harry Wibberley were the scorers for Aztecs in answer to Winshill’s strikeforce of Thomas Kitchen and Louis Ranyard.

BRIAN MOLE UNDER-12 DIVISION ONE leaders Stretton Swifts need just one point from their final two games to clinch the title after their 12-0 win at TS Sports consigned the home side to relegation.

Kai Maw scored five goals to lead the way for Swifts, while a Greg Allen hattrick and doubles apiece for Tom Duddy and Kyro Sharpe made up the total.

Edge Hill and Rolleston Diamonds are both still locked in joint second place, awaiting any possible slip-ups, although the best they can hope for now is a share of the points with Stretton and a play-off situation.

A Shamas Amer brace, added to by Jacob Driscoll, earned Edge Hill a 3-2 success against lowly Hilton Harriers Lions, who replied through Sam Jennings and Cameron Kemp.

Also finding the going tough were Rolleston Diamonds as they edged out visitors Uttoxeter 4-3 thanks to a Nicholas Purslow treble and a Kian Beard goal in answer to Uttoxeter’s Jackson Brown (2) and Matthew Ronson Ashby Ivanhoe still entertain faint hopes of snatching the runners-up trophy after Max Lee (2) and Ben Jones fired them to a 3-0 win at Barton Rovers.

Form team Measham Welfare suffered a slight setback in their quest to secure runners- up spot in DNS UNDER-12 DIVISION TWO as their winning run was halted by a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Marlborough Black.

Harry Stewart and Josh Winfield netted for the hosts in their final game of the season to outscore the lone reply from Measham’s James Gillies.

Also ending their campaign were Belvedere Red and Winshill Yellow, whose clash resulted in a 3-1 success for the former as the trio of Connor Lambert, Maxwell Margetson and Miles Margetson all found the back of the net to leave Winshill’s reply from Allesandro Tedesco trailing.

Ben Golding struck four times for Belvedere Blue in their 7-2 victory at Woodville Rangers, with further goals coming from James Hyslop (2) and Melad Mohammed in answer to the home side’s duo of Aaron Harvey and Jake Mayman.

Belvedere Park face relegation from ARRIVA MIDLANDS UNDER-13 DIVISION ONE as their last game of the season ended in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Measham Tigers, who found the back of the net through Jordan Lees, Callum Steadman and Sam Stewart.

Thomas Dee netted for an understrength Uttoxeter outfit at Whittington Albion, but the hosts replied through Sam Chilvers, Dominic Russell and John Wint to notch up a 3-1 win.

Winshill’s campaign ended with a familiar outcome as goals from Luke Greenhill and Cameron Padley failed to produce a favourable result against opponents Repton Casuals Blue, who hit back to record an 11-2 victory thanks to Samuel Bates (4), Leon Marzhauser (3), Benjamin Paxton (2), Thomas Belton and Joshua Coates.

Champions St George’s rounded off their LIBERTY ROSE TRUST UNDER-13 DIVISION TWO campaign by preserving their undefeated away record with a 7-0 success at Measham Pumas.

A hat-trick from the division’s top scorer, Louis Kinnerley, was added to by Daniel Rose (2), George Bain and Declan Hooley.

Runners-up Repton Casuals Blue also kept a clean sheet as they racked up an 11-0 scoreline at home to an unfortunate Doveridge outfit.

Charlie Gregory (3), Matthew Elliott (2), Ewan Mitchell (2), Matthew Arnold, Oliver Chester, Jonny Luke and Rhys Methven were the players on target.

Hilton Harriers pushed themselves up a place in the table after edging out Mayfield Panthers 2-1, with their duo of Brandon Edwards and Aaron Tidey topping the solo strike from Mayfield’s Liam Hemsil.

The final two matches of the BJFL UNDER-15 DIVISION TWO season resulted in wins for both Hilton Harriers and TS Sports — at the expense of Newhall Cougars and Uttoxeter respectively.

A Callum Bagley double and a Billy Smith goal produced a 3-0 result for Hilton, while a depleted Uttoxeter outfit could only manage an Adam Tarr strike in their 5-1 loss at TS, where the home side found the net through Kyle Bird, Matthew Harris, Nathan Mefford, Jake Norton and Dean Wagstaff.

The top scorer in this division was Jake Pope of Repton Casuals White with 36 goals at an average of 2.25 per game.
