HILTON Jets and Stretton Swifts are battling it out at the top of STRETTON McDONALD’S UNDER-NINE DIVISION ONE after starting the year with emphatic victories.
Jets beat Rocester Red 4-0 thanks to goals from Callum Samson (2), Daniel Clover and Daniel Dodd, while Swifts extended their 100 per cent record as Kyle Bambrick (2), Jacob Dussroth (2), Riley Nixon and Riley Crawley netted in a 6-1 defeat of Marlborough Rovers, who replied through Brody Lee-Moore.
Five goals by Joshua Cox featured strongly in Whittington Villa’s 11-0 crushing of Newhall Tigers. He was joined on the scoresheet by Harry Parker (3), James Duffell (2) and Jay Harwood.
Goals from Max Bosey (2), Callum McLaughlin and Thomas Cripps earned Chellaston Black Sox a great 4-0 win over higher-placed Winshill.
In DIVISION TWO, secondplaced Stretton Eagles were 4- 1 winners against Netherseal St Peter’s thanks to goals from Jonathan Dawkins (2), Sulaymaan Baig and James Price.
William Mathews was on hand to reply for Netherseal.
Belvedere Blue still lead the way in DIVISION THREE after goals from Ryan Bennett and Harry Smith in a 2-0 defeat of Willington, while Thomas Bradshaw (3) and Jamie Thompson clinched a 4-0 win for Ashby Ivanhoe against Outwoods Eagles.
Humphry Jackson popped up with the only goal of the game for Hilton Flyers against Riverside Athletic.
Barton Hercules’ 5-2 win came courtesy of goals from Ethan Ashton (3), Richard Ward and Jack Branson as Jack Smith and Taine Garner replied for LRT.
Uttoxeter White had Owen Watson and Oscar Smith-Canham on target in a 2-1 defeat of Hatton.
TS Sports beat Chellaston Red Sox 2-1 thanks to a Harrison Mills double to maintain their five-point lead at the top of DIVISION FOUR. Ross Moreton replied for Red Sox.
Benjamin France was the lone goal hero who secured the points for Belvedere White in a mid-table scrap with Woodville Blue.
Meanwhile, Rolleston Red’s 3-0 win against Rocester Blue came courtesy of goals from Harrison Eves (2) and Charlie Spendlove.
A George Jackson hat-trick and goals apiece for Jake Haywood and Ronnie Colver proved to be more than enough to seal the win for Marlborough Black at Midway.
