Green is good as Gresley remain top of the pile

AN ASHLEY Green double was enough to see Gresley to a 2-1 win over Belvedere Park as they cemented their position at the top of MARLEY ETERNIT UNDER-14 DIVISION ONE.

Mitchell Harrison’s goal lost out to doubles from the home side’s Axel Kalling-Smith and Dominic Shahidullah.

Stapenhill Swans and Midway faced each other both searching for their first point, and it was the latter who kickstarted their season with a 3-1 victory.

Their trio of Joseph Clarke, Matthew Wells and Aaron Wright outscored the lone reply from Swans’ William Lightfoot.

Stretton Swifts and Willington both remained in close contact with the leaders after they each kept clean sheets.

Swifts won 6-0 against Uttoxeter, while Willington saw off Gresley White 3-0.

The scorers for Stretton were Ross Coulthread (2), Liam Machin (2), Maison Atkin and Ryan Moon, while Max Crosby, Ryan Scurrah and Tom Wilkinson secured the points for Willington.
